Nearest & Dearest?

Don't get me wrong, that I'm returning to NYC next week obviously has me tickled pink.
However, traveling so much this summer would not be as useful if it didn't teach me how to re-live in my own city.
Because whether you like it or not, I've lived in Houston longer than any other city of my life.
I've lived in this one house longer than any place I've lived... since birth! By a long shot!

Leave? Do I want to? Would I ever?

Could I?

Not to find one's way in a city may well be uninteresting and banal ...
but to lose oneself in a city - as one loses oneself in a forest -
that calls for quite a different schooling.

Let's face it, NYC has seduced you.
